Job Description

DuPont’s Spruance, VA plant is looking to fill a position for a Profile Control Process Engineer to join our Tyvek link of business. This role is responsible for defining and delivering, Grow & Improve projects focused on Tyvek® sheet profile control and profile uniformity, in alignment with tactical and strategic Business Technology objectives.  Responsible for providing technical training and coaching to operations technical staff.  Provides engineering support for Root Cause Investigations (RCIs) for internal yield losses and/or customer complaints.  Collaborates across Manufacturing Technology (MT), Automation & Process Control (A&PC), Operations, Research and Development (R&D), etc.  First contact in Engineering for advanced troubleshooting of issues related to profile control and/or roll formation.  Leads or supports improvements to the profile control application and/or related services.

Responsibilities:

  • First contact in Manufacturing Technology (MT) Engineering for advanced troubleshooting for profile control and/or roll formation issues.

  • Responsible for providing technical training and coaching to Operations Engineers and Technical staff.

  • Provide required engineering support for investigations into internal yield losses and/or customer complaints.

  • Leads or supports improvements to profile control application and/or related services.

  • Validates technical solutions and documents results to drive toward a standardized Process Technology.

  • Provides technical input for Management of Change (MOC) projects; leads MOC’s as required for role.

  • Lead or Participate in Project Reviews.

  • Collaborates across MT, Operations, A&PC, R&D, etc.

 

Capabilities Required for this Role (Knowledge Skills & Abilities)

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering discipline

  • Training or experience with a minimum of 2 of the following:

    • Programming/App Development (e.g. C++, LabVIEW, Python, VBA, etc.)

    • Distributed Control Systems (DCS), or similar

    • Process Historian Databases (e.g. IP.21, PHD, etc.)

    • Computer systems (ideally hardware, OS, and software applications)

Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering discipline required

  • 2-8 years of manufacturing or related experience required

  • Line of business (Tyvek®) experience preferred

  • Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low Hazard Operation) experience preferred
