DuPont Mobility & Materials is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our DuPont Tejin Films Mylar® Operations team located on DuPont’s Spruance manufacturing site in Richmond, Virginia. The Spruance Site is home to multiple businesses and is currently DuPont's largest manufacturing site. Process Engineers resolve significant production, safety, and quality issues. S/he develops and implements tools and methods for process control and consistency, operator effectiveness, and continuous improvement. The DuPont Tejin Film Process Engineers provide process engineering and troubleshooting leadership to deliver safe operation and continuously improve in performance metrics with a primary focus on Solution Prep, Coating, Slitting, and/or Solvent Recovery operations. While supporting Six Sigma and Process Safety Management activities, s/he works with regional and global resources to expand chemical and coating process knowledge and applies this knowledge to improve the Spruance process. S/he develops mid-long-term plans to improve site performance (includes line upgrading, downtime reduction, efficiency improvements).
As a Process Engineer- Mylar®, you will:
Project team leadership and support and timely team delivery.
Operating team troubleshooting tools and support.
Safety action closure (procedure and equipment upgrades).
Process/performance data system development.
Data analysis and action plan development Technical troubleshooting assistance of safety incidents, process and quality upsets.
Executing the change management processes to implement improvements (process change, change of design, raw material qualifications, new product trials, etc.)
Leading or participating on project teams to drive continuous improvement work for key performance indicators such as: safety, yield, uptime, fixed and variable cost reductions, and working capital reductions.
Qualifications
BS in Engineering is required; Mechanical or Chemical strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred.
7+ years of experience is preferred.
Candidate must possess strong technical, engineering, communication, troubleshooting, and data analysis skills.
Must have solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of plant personnel, contractors and vendors.
Prior experience working with operations is highly desirable, as is training and experience with OSHA 1910.119 process safety management standard, and experience with Aspen Plus or similar process modeling software.
Ability to lead/uphold core values of SHE, Quality, People Treatment, and Ethics
Preferred Attributes:
Experience in polymer processing or similar chemical processes

Strong interpersonal skills, Strong technical & communication skills
Six Sigma and LEAN experience would be helpful in this role.
Experience in Process Safety Management system requirements, reliability theory, root cause failure analysis
Ability to assimilate the unit operation information into actions that impact important criteria including process safety, mechanical integrity, equipment reliability, cycle time, product quality, and capacity
