How will you make an impact?

Reporting to the manager of Next Generation Sequencing, the Manufacturing Process Engineer is a critical component for maintaining our Quality Management System and drive improvements through projects. This individual will have the ability drive resolutions to day-to-day quality issues and lead projects for the NGS Department.

 

What will you do?

The successful candidate will demonstrate high levels of organizational and communicational skills as well as provide key examples of project management and process improvement experiences. The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for managing the day-to-day quality issues throughout the NGS department and supporting process improvement that might require capital investment. The primary responsibilities are as follow:

  • Drive Safety improvements to promote safe working environment
  • Effectively uses Trackwise (Quality Management System) to provide investigation and resolutions that stems from a process failures and other deviations.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and responds to audit observations
  • Identifies and implements appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
  • Manage the update of manufacturing records such as WIN, SOP, and batch records
  • Create new processes and or improve processes for Formulations, Filling and Assembly group
  • Troubleshoot existing products and processes to recommend and develop/design engineering solutions to address capacity, cost, and quality issues.
  • Prepare reports and present data to peers, supervisors, and other internal customers.
  • Create and review project proposals and plans with management
  • Determine project specifications by reviewing performance standards, process requirements, and customer requirements.
  • Determine project schedule by reviewing project plan and lead time
  • Drive Practical Process Improvements (PPI) with a high level of team member involvement and engagement, and utilizes lean methodologies to realize process efficiencies
  • Facilitate and or lead RCCMs, Kaizens, 3P, projects and or capital projects.
  • Manages project cost, documentations and deadlines to ensure on-time completion
  • Recommend and coordinate measures to improve processes, quality, and safety
  • Effectively communicate barriers or issues and obtains needed support for a resolution

 

Qualifications

Education / Experience:

  • Associate/ bachelor’s degree in Sciences and or Engineering (required)
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing environment or similar
  • 1+ years of experience in ISO or cGMP regulated manufacturing environment
  • Experience with ERP system and a basic understanding of cost account and standard manufacturing financials
  • Experience with Practical Process Improvement (PPI) Systems and tools (or similar Continuous Improvement and Lean Systems)
  • Have worked with cross-functional teams in projects of varying levels
  • Experience with manufacturing processes and inter-departmental responsibilities

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to influence others without authority
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Is energized working in a fast-paced environment
  • Consistent, dependable, and accurate in carrying out responsibilities
  • Displays positive attitude toward job and others
  • Result oriented and data-driven
  • Understands manufacturing operational flow which includes but not limited to, Formulations, Filling and Assembly/Packaging
  • Has strong project management skills
  • Proactive approach that anticipates needs and problems while creating solutions
