Location/Division Specific Information

This is an onsite role within the Manufacturing and Quality Assurance organization at our Chelmsford, MA facility.

 

How will you make an impact?

This position is a hands-on Chemical Engineering position with emphasis on supporting manufacturing of Water Analysis and Water Purification Instruments used in industrial and lab environments. Researches, analyzes, designs, and test component parts, processes, or systems to develop new and/or improve core products and processes. Conducts thorough chemical, mechanical, and performance testing of manufacturing products and equipment.

 

What will you do?

  • Follow safety procedures, good laboratory practices and ensure manufacturing is setup to comply
  • Optimize current product designs to improve quality, reduce costs, improve regulatory compliance and resolve obsolescence issues
  • Test and troubleshoot current production chemical processes
  • Work with cross-functional teams in new solution creation and test procedures and other process documentation
  • Troubleshoot systems and components and related chemical processes for timely resolution of quality and production issues
  • Troubleshoot issues with liquid filling, capping and manufacturing equipment
  • Streamline process to be safe and efficient
  • Plans and conducts engineering experiments to test, prove, modify theoretical propositions
  • Confers with engineering, manufacturing, and quality control to troubleshoot and resolve Analyzes and interprets test data and prepares technical reports for use by engineering or management personnel material or product related problems
  • Inspects, analyzes, and diagnoses product returns
  • Completes required technical documentation by applying engineering principles and company standards, and generating reports, standard operating procedures, or change proposals as required
  • Ensure processes are consistent among products and resolve documentation issues
  • Find new sources of materials, suppliers and alternate materials to use in manufacturing
  • Specify and qualify new equipment used in processes
  • Write ECOs to change Bills of Materials and process changes
  • Review labor routings when necessary and create ones for new products
  • Self-manage engineering projects with minimal guidance

 

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum educational requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

Experience

  • At least 3 years of demonstrated Chemical Engineering work experience is required
  • Chemical production scale up or electro-mechanical product optimization experience
  • Ability to provide hands-on mechanical aptitude with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as a team member in a production environment
  • Ability to be self-managing and task focused
  • Engineering project management experience is preferred
  • Familiar with Bill of Materials (BOM) and ERP software (SAP, Oracle)
  • At least a year or more of experience working on a production floor and/or in a laboratory for chemical production or electro-mechanical product desired
  • Experience/knowledge with mechanical or electrical systems
  • Chemical Engineering, Analytical Chemistry, Electrochemistry, production process improvement experience
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Suite

  • Knowledge/experience in analytical chemistry, methods, principles and laboratory practices, experience in working with multidisciplinary staffs

  • Thrive in a team environment. Cross functional collaboration experience in a matrix organization
