How will you make an impact?

The Product Development team is responsible for design of product configuration and production workflows. The Process Engineer is responsible for the design, optimization, and on-going support of manufacturing operations. In particular, identify and implement improvements around current manufacturing processes to standardize production processes and procedures within and across production group. As part of new product initiatives, the process engineer will perform characterization studies, data analysis and product beta lots.

 

What will you do?

The position requires the ability to collaborate within operations teams and other departments (software, engineering, quality, etc.) to determine workflows for new products on the roadmap and optimize workflows for current products. This includes both laboratory processes and tracking of experiment information and data analysis. The position will need to understand the process and product to conduct risk assessments for process and user FMEA.

  • Coordinate and perform projects from basic information and guidance. Work closely with Quality Systems and Domain Experts
  • Be a member core teams or assist other core team members to accomplish common goals of the team, department and division
  • Write and complete protocols in the lab. Analyze data and write reports in support of equipment, process and products
  • Perform and lead Risk Assessment exercises in support of product development and perform periodic reviews as needed
  • Collaborate with R&D and others to ensure successful process development and product transfer to Operations
  • Maintain knowledge and comprehensive understanding of Quality requirements by completing training requirements
  • Act as a resource to other departments for product and process knowledge.
  • Performs root cause analysis and suggest solutions for recurring issues of moderate complexity
  • Continuously think about practical process improvements to drive improvements through customer delivery & improved quality, as well as cost reduction/avoidance to drive growth and prove profitability
  • Conducts thorough analysis to determine cap ex cost and benefits in the process
  • Calculate COGs and labor hours in association with products

 

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or other similar Life Science field

 

Experience

  • 5+ years relevant experience in medical device or pharmaceutical arena
  • Hands on knowledge of molecular biology lab skills and techniques required

  • Capable of working cross functionally and adjusting priorities to fit the business need
  • Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills - able to express ideas and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams by verbal and written communication
  • Excellent data analytical skills, ability to plan, organize and implement concurrent tasks.
  • Ability to effectively solve complex technical problems
  • Ability to remain calm and effectively resolve potentially harmful/stressful situations
  • Very hands-on work ethic
