 £65 to £80K per + benefits + Car Allowance

Our client is an expert services and software company dedicated to the refining and petrochemical industries. A pioneer in the development and use of proprietary simulation models and cloud technologies and an expert in operational and production enhancement for low or no CAPEX, our client develops solutions that positively impact the productivity, profitability, flexibility, maintainability and environmental performance of their international energy company customers through technological changes and operational efficiencies  based on a fundamental assessment and analysis of existing and required processes and unit operations .

Duties and responsibilities of the role include mainly energy performance improvement studies, but also yield benchmarking studies, Identifying and characterising constraints and inefficiencies in existing and proposed processes, undertaking  simulations and running plant models , reviewing  options and solutions in conjunction with R+D, senior internal consultants , technology providers and constructors and submitting  detailed reports and propositions to clients for review.

Candidates should offer significant experience of refinery energy and utility unit operations support and development ideally, but not necessarily, acquired with a production company. Areas of particular interest include exposure to energy yield studies and site surveys, performing pinch analysis, executing, and reviewing utility system modelling, leading the preparation and review of energy balances for process and site in terms of fuel, steam power and cooling, energy consumption and economy analysis and providing energy technology and equipment recommendations. Competences should include optimisation / debottlenecking, design development (including PFD’s and P&ID’s), and process simulations. Site operational/technical support experience of energy plant such as boilers. exchangers and turbines etc, would be very welcome Working as part of a team in the process consulting business line, typical projects include profit improvement programs, strategic analysis, operational excellence, process trouble shooting and plant optimization. Candidates will need to be familiar with static and transient state downstream software packages such as HYSYS, Aspen + and those associated with pinch technology
