Key Responsibilities:

This exciting role will be accountable for managing the aseptic process and final packaging process on the Blackpool site. You will become a valued and relied upon team member who manages equipment and defines the causes of maintenance activities.

  • Initiation and completion of deviations, remedial actions, CAPA’s and other quality system documentation.
  • Adhere to the Change Control and Design Control requirements.
  • Control and direct manufacturing validation effort for existing and new processes.
  • Active member of multifunctional process and production improvement team.
  • Application of world class manufacturing tools and techniques (Lean, ME2) within aligned process areas.
  • Actively drives process improvement projects to achieve site targets including problem identification and resolution to root cause.
  • Leadership and coordination of onsite Process Excellence initiatives and activities including certification, re-certification, and promotion of PE awareness on site.
  • Input into machinery purchases, investigating new technologies for existing processes.
  • To follow and promote Company, HS&E and Quality standards to enable the site to achieve and maintain excellent results
  • To liaise with outside contractors whilst leading projects from conception to commissioning and handover.

Quality and Compliance Related Responsibilities

You will ensure that all activities are carried out in compliance with all regulations and laws governing business and quality operations (FDA / GMP / BSI / ISO, etc.).

  • Responsible for ensuring company adheres with all local, national, international and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Accountable for HSE compliance for their area of responsibility.


Qualifications

Experience, skills & proficiencies required:

We are open to depth of experience and level of understanding depending on background and abilities. Candidates with Aseptic liquid fill experience would be desirable, however candidates with a Chemical Engineering degree and liquids experience would be considered.

 

  • Technical degree in related subject area (Engineering/Science/Chemical) preferred
  • Prior experience within liquids is essential and packaging line experience desired
  • Proven experience or exposure in engineering or process engineering preferably in a medical device or pharmaceutical 
  • Proven track record of installing / validating new equipment and processes in a highly regulated environment OR previous experience being hands-on in this area
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Initiatives to deliver business benefit. Ability to deliver projects on time and to budget.
  • Able to demonstrate process, equipment improvements and waste reduction savings.

 

While experience in aseptic liquids is preferred, we have a history of developing talent at the Blackpool site so are open to reviewing profiles of experience Chemical Engineering professionals with regulatory and liquids exposure.
