Highly Competitive Salary + Benefits Package
Our client operates one of the largest onshore gas storage and processing facility in the UK: a top tier COMAH site that embraces complex core processes and unit operations including separation, compression, liquefaction, and solvent recovery. The facility is now preparing for significant further investment in its existing assets and revenue streams as well as those for a green/low carbon energy future that will include hydrogen processing. Achieving a neutral carbon balance through alternative energy production is a key medium term strategic objective.
The job holder is very likely to be a Chartered chemical engineer with significant experience of gas and, ideally, hydrogen process plant design, development, technical support, and operations. The successful candidate will evaluate the current and future needs of the facility given its existing and planned long term revenue streams, identifying engineering needs and opportunities. These investment challenges will require technical scoping, conceptual analysis, research support where appropriate, technology evaluation, design, equipment specification and selection, costing, and project implementation where the Process Development Engineer will take a lead role.
Experience of the development and engineering of natural gas and hydrogen technology and process plant, familiarity with Top Tier COMAH legislation and requirements, expertise in safety studies and Hazops/Hazids and project technical /design leadership are all essential skills and competences.
