Since 1903, the DuPont Field Engineering Rotating Program has brought newly graduated top-performing engineers into more than 70 different DuPont locations to gain valuable experience leading to long term career paths. The program gives recent engineering graduates an opportunity to gain a broad perspective and valuable experience in a series of rotation assignments at different sites throughout DuPont. It offers assignments two to three years in length, allowing engineers to train, develop, and grow professionally while making meaningful contributions to the bottom line. Through the program, engineers build a solid record of accomplishments and gain a broad-based perspective of the company. Working at several DuPont sites helps engineers determine where their talents best suit our business needs.
The objective of the program is to develop a diverse group of high potential employees in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Safety Management, Sourcing & Logistics for future Leadership positions within the Company.
This program is a Corporate program which leadership and sponsors are based in the DuPont Headquarters in Wilmington (USA, Delaware) as well as in the EMEA region and across the different Businesses.
A minimum of two assignments is required, three assignments is strongly recommended, each assignment being 1.5-3 years in length.
Total EMEA geographic flexibility is a requirement while active as a Field Engineer.
Assignments will be selected for each engineer based on previous experience and business needs.
Assignments can fall within 4 job umbrellas: Production/Plant/Engineering (Quality, Process, Projects), Research and Development, Supply Chain and Sourcing & Logistics.
Possible locations for assignments are a.o the Netherlands, Germany, France, Belgium, Spain, Luxembourg, Switzerland ….
The first assignment for this Field Engineer would be as a Tyvek® Flash Spinning Pilot Plant (FSPP) Process Engineer based in Luxembourg, in the Water & Protection Business and will work under supervision of the FSPP Operations Manager.
This first assignment will last 3 years.Tyvek® is a flash-spun nonwoven fabric, lightweight and versatile yet resilient and durable, with leading global market positions in construction, protective apparel, medical packaging and others. Whether it’s keeping homes comfortable, protecting workers from on-the-job hazards, enabling a safe response to epidemics, or countless other applications - the unique attributes of DuPont™ Tyvek® bring comfort, protection and the gift of life to millions each day.
The purpose of the DuPont Water & Protection (W&P) Business is to create water, shelter and safety solutions for a more sustainable world. As an industry leader in innovation and science, we develop solutions that protect, shelter and enhance lives. Our expertise spans high-performance fibers and foams, aramid papers, non-woven structures, water purification technologies, and protective garments, and includes well-known brands like Kevlar®, Nomex®, Tyvek®, Styrofoam™, Corian®, Great Stuff™, FilmTec™, and TapTec™.
The proprietary Tyvek® Technology involves a wide variety of engineering disciplines, such as chemical and mechanical engineering, polymer chemistry & processing, polymer solutions, electrostatics, aerodynamics, material science and more.

As Tyvek® FSPP Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse team and some of the most innovative and curious people in Safety & Construction to help grow the Tyvek® business. In your role you’ll make an impact by:
Taking ownership of the process, identifying and implementing process improvements
Providing technical expertise and support for all steps of the process during operation of the facility
Providing training and guidance to Operations & Maintenance
Primary contact for R&D tests and test configuration
Design, run and document tests based on R&D test requests
Coordinate commissioning & test activities
Taking ownership for Process Safety Management
Leading Safety Reviews before start-up of new equipment
Your Skills and Expertise
For you to be successful in your new role, DuPont is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
Master’s degree - Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
Fluent in German and English
Broad and general interest in technology, fast learner
Strong conceptual & analytical thinking, creativity, global approach to a problem and practical capabilities
Demonstrated success working in a team environment and effectively communicating across all levels of personnel
High level of self-motivation, work ethic, initiative and flexibility
Demonstrated capability to resolve issues using fact-based problem solving
Demonstrated ability to understand manufacturing processes and best practices required to support operations
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
High hazard process experience
Demonstrated use of Six Sigma methodology (Green Belt or Black Belt certified)
