Aker Carbon Capture’s project portfolio ranges from concept studies to large EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) projects. We now have more than a dozen ongoing projects in various phases of development. and we are ready for our biggest challenge yet: delivering the carbon capture plant at the Norcem cement plant in Brevik, Norway. This will be the world's first CO2-capture facility at a cement plant.

We are now looking to strengthen our team even further by hiring three Senior Specialist/Process Engineers who will be working in our soon to be established office in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Role
As our Senior Specialist/Process Engineer, you will:

  • be responsible for developing solutions for carbon capture, heat integration and CO2 handling
  • ensure technical specifications and procedures associated with carbon capture process, heat integration and CO2 handling have the necessary quality in projects and products
  • establish documents (PFD, P&ID, heat and mass balances, data sheets, etc) to ensure correct implementation of carbon capture process, heat integration and CO2 handling in studies and execution projects
  • co-operate with customers as part of business development and project execution
  • identify and assess patentable inventions related to ACC technology

Who are you?

You have:

  • PhD/Masters degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering (or similar) with 5-10 years’ experience 
  • knowledge and experience from process simulations
  • knowledge of carbon capture handling, including CO2 compression, utilization and storage
  • knowledge of steam turbines and steam systems is considered an advantage
  • experience from land-based industry such as chemical processing
  • experience in use of process simulations tools (e.g. HYSYS, Unisim)
  • strong theoretical thermodynamic understanding
  • understanding of technology development and qualification

  • self-reliant and motivated, with a passion for environmental projects
  • flexible regarding work tasks and possible practical field work, as required
  • systematic
  • fluent in written and spoken English
