About you

To be successful in this role we are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Process Engineer to provide senior support to our growing processing engineering / treatment team for the water sector in Arup Sydney.

As a successful candidate for this role, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in chemical engineering or similar area;
  • Relevant industry experience in the water industry within a consulting business environment;
  • Design / supervisory experience and contribute to the development of others through sharing expertise;
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments;
  • Effective written communication and report writing skills;
  • Able to prioritise and organise own work within time and quality demands of project plans.

About the role

This exciting role requires you to provide technical direction and mentorship for a growing team of Engineers.  You will manage complex process engineering aspects of water projects that are under the Sydney Water Planning Partnership as part of the Concept Design and Major Projects teams.  In this position, you will need to capitalising on process engineering opportunities. This will include building and growing our skills and capabilities in this area within the wider NSW/ACT market.

In this role:

  • You will be accountable for significant and complex activities or projects.  This will require you to be responsible for predicting and planning future resources;
  • You will take a longer term strategic view of the business and contribute to the development plan of Arup;
  • You may be responsible for the performance and development of others.  This would require you to provide guidance, training, motivation and direction to staff;
  • You may be involved in setting budgets; as such you would be responsible for negotiating agreements with customers and suppliers in order to achieve financial targets.
