 Process Engineer III (ID: 2101326) -Monaca, PA




Where the Chemistry Happens


Process Engineer is responsible for supporting the sites' safety objectives, the creation and execution of efficiency improvement projects/programs, providing process support to (and/or lead) various capital projects, provide day to day production support as needed and the technical transfer of new products. This person has significant internal relationships that they need to interact with, including the Site Leader, TES Manager, and Operations Manager.  Additionally, they will work closely to support/backup their counterpart in Production Engineering.  They will have significant interactions with Project and Controls Engineers along with Production Management and R&D.  Finally, they will interact with support personnel including Maintenance, Reliability, Controls, Projects etc. as they will lead multiple site wide initiatives in this role.





Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Formula to Success 

    Bachelor degree in chemical engineering or related discipline required
  • 7+ years experience in production, process, or mechanical troubleshooting and optimization activities at a chemical or petrochemical manufacturing facility.
  • Working knowledge and experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or similar data driven process improvement methodologies with the ability to facilitate and lead project teams to successful implementation.
  • Previous PSM experience, particularly in MOC, PHA, PSI creation required
  • Proven track record of working in a team environment.
  • Experience participating in large capital projects as a Project Manager or Manufacturing Representative
  • Must possess a strong technical/problem solving aptitude.
  • Able to solve complex problems by identifying and enrolling appropriate resources.
  • Product scaleup experience including working with commercial and R&D teams highly desired
  • Background in dispersion manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Must show strong initiative, be self-motivated, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of advanced process control systems needed.
  • Experience working in chemical industry highly desired.
  • Must be able to work with and across all levels of an organization from operators to senior management.
