This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Process Engineer to take a significant role in the design, installation and commissioning of CPI’s new Novel Food Innovation Centre, a biotech piloting facility which will be used to help develop the next generation of alternative foods and bring them to market. Working alongside the balance of the Process Engineering team, you will be providing technical expertise, capability and input to the development of and delivery of the facility. Alongside the process engineering elements of the role, you will also support the procurement team through the provision of technical input to the identification, specification and evaluation of vendor packages, including engagement with and selection of appropriate vendors. In addition to this major capability build project, you will also contribute to a broad range of other exciting engineering projects, acting as technical lead in medium / large scale projects and projects of increasing complexity to help customers develop and scale up the next generation of biotech processes. You will draw upon a broad range of technical know-how to deliver high quality process engineering outputs against agreed time and budget constraints, whilst providing expert advice and guidance to a range of stakeholders across the organisation. You will be viewed as an authority in process engineering within the company, offering innovative solutions and contributing extensively to development activities.
We are looking for an individual that possesses significant technical expertise in chemical / process engineering design, and specifically a strong knowledge of biotechnology process and facility design. It is essential you can demonstrate a track record in the design of biotechnology facilities, from concept generation through to commissioning, alongside experience of demonstrating in-depth technical and theoretical knowledge in chemical / process engineering in general. Ideally you will also have an understanding of the regulatory environment around food processing, and design requirements in that area. The successful candidate will be at educated to at least HNC or Foundation Degree level (or equivalent) in a Chemical / Biochemical Engineering discipline and will be able to demonstrate a significant level of industrial engineering experience.
