Job Description

£50 to £ 78,000 per annum plus benefits

Our client is a successful niche toll processor of powders for a variety of sectors including the polymer, food, and pharmaceutical segments. Part of our client’s site is GMP regulated. The business is well established and successful and is now poised to appoint a technical manager who will play a key senior management role in implementing the 5 year development plan for the facility. The job holder’s responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that safety management systems function effectively.
  • Provide support for ISO9001, ISO14001, FSSC 22,000, pharmaceutical quality and safety systems.
  • Lead a team to carry out risk-based assessment processes such as HACCP, DSEAR and implementing solutions appropriate for a small company.
  • Provide technical expertise in support of powder processing activities & the assessment and installation of new business.
  • Design and manage the installation of new plant.
  • Understand and rectify process problems associated with powders and granules that have varying characteristics.
  • Initiate, define and execute productivity improvements through plant or process modifications.
  • Run the site preventative maintenance systems.
  • Assist the Technical Director in managing the QA laboratory and the regulatory systems.
  • Manage external engineering contractors.
  • Manage upgrades to process equipment and site facilities including buildings work.
  • Implement improvements in the management systems.
  • Technology transfer and roll-out.
  • Manage multiple projects.

 

Candidates should have a degree (or equivalent) in chemical or mechanical engineering and experience of solids handing technology and manufacturing processes ideally acquired within the hygienic sector (food production, veterinary products, pharmaceuticals).
