IChemE (Institution of Chemical Engineers) is the leading professional qualifying body for chemical, biochemical and process engineers.


Founded in 1922, IChemE advances chemical engineering's contribution worldwide for the benefit of society. We support the development of chemical engineering professionals and provide connections to a powerful network of over 33,000 members in more than 100 countries.


We are a multi-national institution with primary offices in the UK and Australia. Our members are found in a range of industry sectors, and at different stages of their careers, from students and graduates in training through to senior Fellows at the highest levels of leadership in business and academia.
We support our members in applying their expertise and experience to make an influential contribution to solving major global challenges, and are the only organisation permitted to award Chartered Chemical Engineer status and Professional Process Safety Engineer registration. We are working towards ISO 9001 accreditation with the goal of achieving complete certification in 2022.


We are looking for a Project Coordinator who will work alongside staff and Members. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the administration, reporting and volunteer support of this important activity.


You will be enthusiastic and engaging with an eye for detail. You will have experience of working in a project-based environment, producing timely granular reports. You will be organised and able to maintain a strong and productive working relationship with key project stakeholders, many of whom are volunteers.


You will be educated to post-secondary education (e.g., level 4) level as a minimum requirement and Prince2 project management qualifications are desirable, but not essential.


You will need at least 2 years’ experience working in a project-based environment. Experience of Member based organisations would be desirable. Applicants must demonstrate a good level of IT literacy for all Microsoft Office applications and experience using website-based collaboration systems and CRM.


Core responsibilities of the role include:


▪ Project and volunteer coordination: managing the project timeline, arranging project review meetings, monitoring project spend and documentation. Supporting volunteers and staff to ensure project delivery.
▪ Project administration: arranging and attending project meetings, maintaining a website based collaboration system (SharePoint) and associated project documentation.


Due to IChemE’s international nature, this position requires a willingness to work flexibly and to engage in business discussions outside of normal working hours. The position is based at our Rugby
