Where the Chemistry Happens

 

 

 

This is a senior level position where we are seeking a professional like you to join our team.  In this role, you will further develop electrocoat paint lab application processes that simulate our customers’ manufacturing processes. You will independently make decisions on technical issues and methods and use troubleshooting skills to solve electrocoat paint process issues at customer facilities. Additionally, you will participate or lead projects to launch new products at existing and new customers and resolve any concerns with respect to workability, paint performance and appearance.

 

 

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

  • Your desire to work both in a laboratory and a customer manufacturing environment, as well as your strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge will be a valued asset as you work in the lab or customer facility to define customer processes and develop correlated laboratory processes.
  • Demonstrating your project management skills with an ability to manage priorities and multi-task, you will work in the electrocoat laboratory to execute paint deposition studies.
  • Your ability to analyze data and interpret it will be essential as you compile and analyze data to develop and implement improvements.
  • Using your knowledge of electrocoat and electrocoat systems, you will work with customer engineers and maintenance people to ensure proper operation of the electrocoat process.
  • Leveraging your Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering combined with your ten years relevant work experience in a chemical/process engineering role, you will perform electrocoat paint studies in a laboratory environment.
  • Successfully interacting with the customer and applying your problem solving skills and experience, you will develop methods to reproduce customer issues, design experiments to correct them, work with manufacturing to implement changes, and report root cause and corrective actions to the customer.
  • Your superior verbal and written communication skills will serve you well as you will be responsible to ensure laboratory workflow is meeting customer demand and achieving quality results.
