As Acting Head of Process Engineering, you will be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's, ImmunoDiagnostics Division (IDD), which develops, manufactures and markets diagnostic tests for allergies, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,900 employees globally, IDD is a world leader in in vitro diagnostics (IVD) of allergy and a leader in autoimmune diagnostics in Europe. In Uppsala, with about 700 employees, is the division's largest site with both development and manufacturing.
How will you be able to influence?
We are now looking for a driven and structured acting group manager for Process Engineering, Uppsala within Technical Operations. You will be a key player in the continued work of developing new and managing existing production processes to meet the business' requirements for quality, capacity and further growth. You are part of the technology management team and report directly to the Director Technical Operations. We have a developing environment with a high investment rate that offers varied and challenging tasks.
What does the role mean?
The group consists of 12 process engineers who are responsible for the management and development of the production processes. The group participates in projects, also runs its own activities to improve production processes and solves problems in complex investigations.
Together with your group, you lead and develop employees and the group to contribute to trouble-free production and increase cost efficiency in the short and long term. You are responsible for budget, work environment, follow up the CPI and work continuously according to LEAN principles for the group's continued development. The team is also responsible for training internally at the company within the area of responsibility. The group also has design responsibility for the production processes.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for you who have good leadership qualities and are interested in leading a group of process engineers. You have a technical or science college education and experience of leading others. It is important that you have a good ability to work together and enjoy contributing to the development of working methods. Problem-solving ability and technical interest will also be useful in your role.
The role suits you who are structured, communicate constructively and can collaborate with several functions. You are an enthusiastic leader with the ability to drive from start to finish. As a person, you are good at building relationships within the team and the company. You need to master Swedish and English in speech and writing. Knowledge of German is an advantage.
Merit is managerial experience and / or project leadership in life science, experience of working with technical process development and statistical methods.
