Graduate Process Engineer in Training

Wood is currently recruiting for Graduate Process Engineer (EIT) to join the Engineering team(s) within our  Conventional Energy Canada Team based in Calgary.

The successful candidate will be engaged in projects ranging from refinery and gas projects, oilsands, and SAGD. The role will include process simulation, equipment sizing, hydraulic analysis, development of PFDs and PIDs. The work will be carried out under the guidance of the Lead Process Engineer and shall be completed within the project schedule requirements while maintaining high quality. Work will range from conceptual studies through detailed engineering.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Recently graduated with a BSC, BEng or equivalent as a Chemical Engineer, Petroleum Engineer, Industrial Systems Engineer (within 2 years)
• Legal authorization to work in Canada

Role-Specific Skills:

• Strong written and oral communication (English) skills
• Currently registered as an EIT with APEGA
• Able to apply the theories, codes and standards appropriate to the Process discipline
• Professinoal demeanor, interpersonal skills
• Ability to work as part of a dynamic team; while still being able to take responsibility and ownership of individual assignments.
• Familiarity with simulation tools including Aspen Hysys, ProII, Unisim, or equivalent.
• Experience of participation in HAZOP, HAZID and SIL rating studies - preferred
