Our client is a consulting and software company dedicated to the refining and petrochemical industries. A pioneer in the development and use of proprietary simulation models and cloud technologies and an expert in operational and production enhancement for low or no CAPEX, our client develops solutions that positively impact the productivity, profitability, flexibility, maintainability and environmental performance of their international energy company customers through technological changes and operational efficiencies based on a fundamental assessment and analysis of existing and required processes and unit operations .The successful candidate will undertake performance and yield benchmarking studies , Identify and characterise constraints and inefficiencies in existing and proposed processes , undertake simulations and run plant models , review options and solutions in conjunction with R+D, senior internal consultant’s , technology providers and constructors and submit detailed reports and propositions to clients for review.
Candidates should offer very significant experience of refinery unit operations support and development ideally, but not necessarily, acquired with a production company. Areas of particular interest include primary fractionation, hydroprocessing, fluidised cat cracking and naphtha and residue processing , but other areas of refinery expertise will be considered. Competences should include optimisation / debottlenecking, design development (including PFD’s and P&ID’s), and process simulations. Working as part of a team in the process consulting business line, typical projects include Profit Improvement Programs, strategic analysis, operational excellence, process trouble shooting and plant optimization. Candidates will need to be familiar with static and transient state downstream software packages such as HYSYS and Aspen +. Skills in and exposure to refinery LP modelling and economics and FEED study leadership would be additional advantages.
The post will be offered on a fixed 1-year staff basis that maybe extendable.
