Job DescriptionNova Pangaea Technologies (NPT) is a start-up company with experimental facilities located primarily at Wilton International, Teesside. NPT is developing a revolutionary fractionation technology for conversion of waste biomass into valuable 2nd Generation sugar. The process is based solely on thermo-chemical principles and it uses no enzymes to obtain monomeric C5- and C6-sugars and a lignin char which can be further processed into base-chemicals to replace conventional fossil derived counterparts. We are currently looking for a full time Junior Process Engineer to work alongside the existing Wilton Site Team to assist with general running, development and maintenance of new pilot and demonstration plant which will come online late 2019. This is an excellent opportunity to work as part of a diverse team in a dynamic setting. Summary of responsibilities: • Work within the engineering team to concept, evaluate and design process solutions. • Assist with technical problem solving activities. • Assist with technical and safety assessments are carried out. • Planning, conducting, evaluating and carrying out operation trials. • Provide technical expertise and problem-solving capability to the site. • Ensuring individual and team HSE standards are maintained. • Provide process design and documentation i.e. line schedules and P&IDS Other: • Hold a minimum HND/Degree in Chemical/Process Engineering ideal for a graduate. • A self-starter with good communication, analytical and team working skills. • Well-developed IT skills. • Strong report writing and presentational skills. • The ability to work closely with others is imperative, requiring team participation to achieve the agreed objectives • Have a fully flexible approach to the job role and responsibilities • Strong communication, interpersonal and organization skills • Be willing to travel within the UK and abroad as required Location: Lealholme Building, Wilton International Site, Middlesbrough, TS10 4RG Remuneration and hours: The working hours are Monday to Friday - 8.00 am to 4.00pm. Occasional weekend work may be required. Holidays - 25 days per annum plus bank holidays. This position offers a competitive salary which can be discussed further at the interview stage.
