Polymers Manufacturing Process Engineer Location: Basingstoke Salary: Competitive Hours: working 36.5 hours a week Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Friday’s. We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Process Engineer who specialises in Polymers, to join our industry leading research and development team based in our rapidly growing facility in Basingstoke. Working as a Polymers Manufacturing Process Engineer will encompass developing, maintaining and improving production processes for elastomeric moulded products, specifically polyurethane foam and silicone elastomers. Prosthetics and Orthotics is a unique and bespoke industry, therefore this is a great opportunity for the successful engineer to work with award winning products, working with the very best engineers in the industry, to really support manufacturing. Responsibilities Of The Polymers Manufacturing Process Engineer Day to day technical support for elastomeric/polymeric manufacturing processes. Developing new and best practice methods for moulded elastomeric manufacture to support the new product implementation process. Designing experiments and preparing material / process test reports as part of project technical files. Management and support of sub-contract manufacture. Developing in-line NPD QC checks. Requirements Of The Polymers Manufacturing Process Engineer A strong background in planning, developing and supporting processes for silicone and/or foam moulded products and of polymer/moulding manufacturing techniques is essential. Experience in project planning and commissioning of new production plant is also essential. Ideally, candidates will be qualified at a minimum of degree level in materials / process engineering or equivalent. The successful candidate will have good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team. You will have a ‘hands on’ approach, with a flexible, positive and professional working style. You will have the ability to manage priorities and work proactively and efficiently, with strong problem solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
