We are seeking a self-motivated, process-driven and relevantly experienced Production Engineer, to join a busy international manufacturing team based in Rayleigh, Essex. The key tasks of this role are to make sure that product quality requirements are met through all aspects of the product lifecycle, developing and improving processes and procedures, ensuring efficient and effective manufacture of products.

The role:

The responsibilities include:

Support and act as the first line support for production issues Taking ownership for the resolution of quality issues Continuously identify and improve production processes and test systems Generate and maintain production assembly work instructions, to uphold and improve standards Work with our internal design team to ensure new products are designed for manufacture Prepare production in readiness for introduction of new products 3D CAD knowledge and able to reproduce 2D engineering drawings Generate and manage bills of materials using SAP Liaising with suppliers to determine manufacturability of new components Obtain new and existing part quotations and negotiate with suppliers Configuration of production line final test equipment

The candidate:

The successful candidate must be an effective communicator and able to forge strong working relationships at all levels of the business, Able to influence design decisions while working closely with suppliers and in-house departments to drive manufacturing and quality improvements. Have proven production engineering experience gained from working in a manual, electro-mechanical assembly workshop. HNC, HND or above in a relevant Engineering discipline A strong Production engineering background Good understanding of various manufacturing processes, e.g. CNC, sheet metal, PCB assembly etc. Able to generate engineering drawings in CAD Computer Literate (MS Office) Good understanding of safe working practice with electronic equipment Ideally with experience in dealing with low volume, high value complex components and mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies Experience in using Autodesk Inventor and/or SAP or similar software is an advantage
