A cutting edge Aerospace & Defence organisation have a unique opportunity for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join their team.

Candidates will need a structured approach to improvement opportunities and be able to prioritise workload to meet customer and stakeholder deadlines.

If possible, based on their own experience, candidates should demonstrate core skill capabilities and practical examples of improvements and be able to demonstrate problem solving techniques using lean tool sets.

Experience required:

Manufacturing & process engineering

Manufacturing process control

Lean manufacturing methodology and implementation

Engineering drawing interpretation

CAD and IT skills

Equipment and tooling design (electrical mechanical and control awareness)

Health, Safety and Environment experience (ideally involving hazardous materials)

CNC machining, moulding, bonding and assembly

Financial awareness and capability

Presentation and communication skills across all levels of business

Experience in all these disciplines would be ideal but not essential as full training will be given.

Manufacturing engineering - methodologies, planning, cell development and quantitative analysis.

Lean manufacturing - waste reduction, process analysis, flow, balancing and optimisation.

Revenue and capex justification and submission

Experience of equipment and plant installation

 Machining - CNC milling and turning, programming desirable but not essential, engineering tolerance, machine set-up and tooling development.

Health, Safety and Environment, e.g. PUWER, COSHH, REACH


HNC, HND or Mechanical Engineering degree (or equivalent).

Production Engineer

Company name – just recruitment group, Essex

The Just Recruitment Group is currently recruiting for a Production Engineer for their client based in Dunmow, Essex.

Candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, trouble-shooting skills, and an aptitude for working with production software.

Production Engineer Tasks

• Design new tooling, equipment, processes, procedures and systems

• Assist in process hazard analysis and drive resulting action items to completion

• Perform training to operators on new processes

• Document agreements and checks (Concession & Management Review/Audit)

• Establish/document standard methods across similar work areas

• Document new standard methods (Document Change Notes)

• Modify and update all Safety Information and procedures

• Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement

• Liaising with suppliers, customers and research and development staff.

Experience in the following is preferable:

Engineering Design

Lean Manufacturing

Manufacturing Process Engineering


Problem Solving

Computer Aided Design (CAD) AutoCAD/Solid Works CAM
