Chemical Day Process Operator
Reporting to Shift Team Manager 
£28,500 increasing to £38,878 on completion of full training 

The manufacturing department goal within my clients business is to produce all products right first time i.e. the correct quantity, quality, on time and safe manner, as indicated by the production schedule and safe systems of work.

A vacancy has arisen for a Chemical Process Day Operator to join the Production Team in carrying out process plant operations, to enable the department to achieve its operational objectives.

The role involves use of manufacturing procedures, process plant equipment and IT.
The post holder will be expected to act with due regard to the site safe systems of work and to protect the integrity of plant equipment by good operating practice.

The successful applicant will receive comprehensive on the job training, with competency testing conducted at specific intervals. On completion of process training, there will be an additional requirement to complete the in-house underpinning (process plant), knowledge programme, or have already successfully completed the City and Guilds 0610 Process Plant Operations modules or equivalent.

Job Objectives:

To carry out plant operations using set procedures and equipment as laid down in site control
documents such as Work Instructions task analysis and Batch Quality Plans, thereby enabling the Production
Department to meet its operational objectives.

Necessary Training and Practical Work Experience:

-Achieve a pre-determined standard in both
mechanical aptitude and mental ability tests.
-Structured training programme of a pre-agreed number of 8 or 12hr
-In-House underpinning Training Modules

Main Responsibilities:

Progress unit operations to achieve the production schedule. Investigate and report any
problems, including non-standard plant conditions, to Supervisor. Ensure all chemical transfers
and bulk chemical loading / offloading operations are carried out according to procedure.

During all operations, maintain accurate and legible records to facilitate production records
management and efficient handover communication.

Comply with site SHEQ procedures and ensure housekeeping standards in the unit work areas
are maintained.
Ensure that use of site Utilities is minimised. 
Carry out correct safe isolations of unit equipment as per the PTW for safe maintenance work as and when instructed. 

Participate in communication and continuous learning through attendance at relevant Workgroups

and internal training sessions.
