Process Engineer - Suffolk - Competitive Salary + Benefits
A leading, specialist engineering organisation is seeking to employ a Process Engineer to join their dynamic Operational Excellence team within their Suffolk based facility.
The successful Process Engineer will be responsible for the provision of high level support in the highlighting of manufacturing issues, defect detection and providing technical expertise regarding containment and implementation of corrective actions alongside designing and developing efficient manufacturing process with inbuilt quality.
Other responsibilities include; day to day support to manufacturing operations; design of tools and fixtures to improve ergonomics and reduce cycle times, lead effective 5Y/8D root cause analysis and drive sustainable corrective actions, and conduct PFMEA's.
In order to be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have proven experience as a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or similar, and as such have demonstrable experience highlighting and fixing manufacturing issues, detecting defects, and implementing corrective actions. It would be advantageous to have knowledge / experience in any of the following areas: Design For Manufacture (DFM), Design For Assembly (DFA), the implementation of lean/continuous improvement tools i.e. 5S, VSM, KanBan, SMED, Six Sigma etc. quality engineering tools and processes such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis, PFMEA etc. It would also be advantageous to hold a formal qualification i.e. HNC/HND/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline, as it would be to have gained experience within a 'low volume/high mix' manufacturing environment.
This opportunity is based in Suffolk and is commutable from Ipswich, Cambridge, Braintree, Colchester, Bishops Stortford, Thetford, Ely, Stowmarket, Norwich and other locations within the Suffolk, Norfolk and East Anglia regions.
