My client is an international supplier to power generation sector who offer design and engineering through equipment supply to project management. The currently have a requirement for a PROCESS ENGINEER to join their team based in Doncaster on a contract basis.
Main Purpose of the Job
Working under the direction of the Process and Electrical Engineering Manager and with other engineers to ensure that the Customer’s specified engineering and contractual requirements are interpreted fully and correctly in accordance with the company’s Applications & Engineering standards, all regulatory bodies, and within the Project budget and time schedule.
Main Tasks of the Job
*To verify the overall Project process against customer specifications by means of a Configurator and other tools, producing all necessary process calculations and supporting documentation, and clarifying all process issues with both Customers & Suppliers.
*To produce a range of process designs and associated documentation required for the project in a professional, proficient and timely manner, including:
Process Flow Diagram(s)
Piping & Instrument Diagrams
Functional Design Specification
Equipment Technical Specifications
Equipment List, Valve List, Instrument List
Operating Manual System operating sections
Commissioning / Training Manual
*To provide technical assessment, evaluation and support to Supply Chain in discussions with potential equipment and system suppliers.
*To provide technical support to the Commissioning Engineers as required.
*To manage the process work, maintaining consistent forecasts on a weekly basis of all outstanding work required and the time necessary to complete this, with all Project work being time-booked within the cost recovery system
As well as the above key tasks, you will be expected to carry out other duties which can reasonably be assessed as part of your role. This could include an element of international travel as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
* Must have either; a relevant Engineering Degree or proven experience in a similar role.
* Project management skills
* Ability to analyse technical problems, learn and provide quick effective solutions.
* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and the confidence and capability to represent the Company at customer site meetings
* Previous experience of working in a heavy engineering / manufacturing environment
* IT literate
