Process/Chemical Engineering Technical Lead
Experience of leading a process/chemical design team?
We are doing something awesome at the moment, as we are bringing our design engineering back in-house. This exciting change means that we have opportunities at both of our design hubs, in Derby and Coventry, for you to come and join us as a Process/Chemical Engineering Technical Lead. We are looking for a Chartered Process/Chemical Engineer (or equivalent) to be our go-to expert for electrical engineering queries across our design community. You’ll be the technical lead to set, maintain and raise the standards within this area, helping us to develop new ways of working, and shaping the future of design. You’ll need to have a great understanding of current research and development, as well as the ability to explore and lead on new techniques and technologies, so we have the most effective design solutions.
As a Technical Lead, we would expect you to:
• Be the discipline expert for our design team of over 250 people. • Optimise the design team, to ensure that the best person for the job is being utilised and that all work is appropriately checked and signed off. • Develop and support our apprentices and engineers of all levels, helping to grow skills and capabilities in our Process/Chemical Engineering function. • Drive innovation through the development of new ideas, capturing insights from your established external network. • Developing best practice plans for technical design standards. • As you may need to visit sites across our region, a full UK driving license is needed.
What are we looking for?
As a Technical Lead, you will have a background as a hands-on designer. As well as this, you’ll have a passion in the delivery of technical solutions, strong leadership skills and you will be willing to take on project design work as required. Water industry experience would be great, however, if you have worked in similar industries, such as Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical or Aerospace, you will definitely have transferrable skills.
