Job Title : Injection Process Engineer

Reports to : Injection Process Supervisor

Band: 5

Track (Associate, Professional o Management): Management

Location: Monterrey NL, Mexico

Number of employees reporting to you: 5 or more

 

Position Summary:

 

The Injection Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining discipline on the production floor by working within the guidelines established in the Thermo Fisher Injection Policy. He or she also coordinates the priorities emerging from daily production meetings.

 

Responsibilities :

 

  • Responsible for the development and updating of Process Sheets.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of mold validation and re-validation processes.
  • Develops first-hand root cause analysis of problems in processes, molds, and machinery.
  • In coordination with the Quality Department, he works on the development, monitoring, and implementation of corrective/preventive actions resulting from NCRs, CAPAs, Internal/External Audits, and Customer Complaints.
  • Responsible for drafting protocols and reports for mold validation
  • Responsible for the payroll and schedules of process technicians.
  • Responsible for ensuring resources to comply with the production plan.
  • Determine and purchase the necessary tools for the activities of your process technicians.
  • Responsible for monitoring files for downtime, scrap, and equipment efficiency.
  • Responsible for monitoring Failure Mode and Effect Analysis for injection, injection blow molding and extrusion blow molding processes.
  • Generates and develops PPI projects that result in savings and cost reduction.
  • Responsible for the maximum and minimum inventories of their production areas.
  • Participate in environmental and safety training sessions (to which you are invited)
  • Carry out their tasks respecting the controls for the care of the environment and the integrity of employees
  • Participate in weekly talks on environmental and safety issues                                                                                                 
  • Report relevant Hazard IDs that you identify in your environmental and safety activities
  • Participate in the 4 Disciplines of Execution
  • Participate in PPI activities
  • Carry out activities related to the insurance meter
  • Evaluate the staff under your charge

 

Authorities :

 

  • Stop the operation of any machine if you observe any condition that puts the integrity of the person or the equipment at risk.
  • Generate disciplinary reports for any Thermo Fisher employee who does not comply with the Injection Policy.
  • Make decisions for the operation if necessary.
  • Update Process Sheets
  • Develop and execute the mold validation and re-validation processes
  • Write protocols and reports for mold validation
  • Replenishment of area tools
  • Evaluate the staff under your charge
  • Report any violation of the dress code within the facilities
  • Report of activities that affect the environment (when applicable)
  • Make proposals for the improvement of the Environmental Management System
  • Implement the relevant corrective measures for activities that affect the environment, when the expected results of the Environmental Management System are not achieved.
  • Open Hazard IDs in environmental and safety matters, and take the necessary and appropriate measures to resolve them.

 

Requirements for the position:

 

Education:

  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in related engineering

 

Experience:

  • Preferably 3 to 5 years of experience in injection molding manufacturing, similar position or equivalent

 

Knowledge:

  • Know how to inject (mandatory)
  • Preferably basic English (desirable)
  • Intermediate Excel (desirable)
  • Systematic molding (preferably).
  • Basic mathematics
