This position is for an experienced chemical engineer to serve as the Precipitation/Crystallization expert in Eastman's Cellulose Esters Development Division within Technology.
The job responsibilities are as follows:
1.) Develop fundamental/theoretical understanding and expertise in Cellulose Esters precipitation chemistry and process technology at lab, pilot, and manufacturing scales.
2.) Develop technical expertise in Cellulose Esters precipication processes and apply fundamental/theoretical expertise to identify opportunities to improve safety, cost position, quality, and/or capacity.
3.) Partner with colleagues as part of cross-functional teams including technology, manufacturing, businesses, HSES, and other functions to drive process improvement projects, growth programs, and business initiatives
4.) Provide project leadership and develop precipitation lab, pilot plant, and manufacturing experiments and research. Provide pilot plant and manufacturing with technical assistance and expertise on precipitation matters.
5.) Provide timely communications to management and project stakeholders by communicating project needs, value, priorities, and decisions to ensure project success.
Required Degree: BS in Chemical Engineering with 5+ years experience related to precipitation/crystallization process development or process improvement. MS/PhD preferred.
