Automation Engineer 

 

For the Bayer factory in the port of Antwerp we are looking for an enthusiastic automation engineer to strengthen the Process Control Systems (PCS) team. The PCS team is responsible for all hardware and software on the process control systems and safety systems in the factory and ensures that the systems continue to function reliably at all times. 
 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implementing adjustments and projects on the Siemens PLC systems.
  • Evaluate and introduce PLC related software packages.
  • Perform system life-cycle management and ensure timely upgrading of systems and software taking into account the necessary system and security requirements.
  • Developing and documenting best practices and standards around process control.
  • Ensuring that all systems always meet the organization's requirements.
  • Provide technical support for production and maintenance issues. For this, you will be deployed in a 24/7 on-call system after an induction period.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Master or Bachelor in a technical industrial direction. Experience in the process industry is a plus.
  • Experience with Siemens Step7, PCS7 and TIA portal packages.
  • Good knowledge of Office365 packages.
  • A team player who can build good relationships with colleagues, managers, internal customers and external suppliers.
  • Good knowledge of Dutch and English.
  • You like to take initiative, are not afraid of a challenge and adapt quickly in a changing environment.
  • Stress-resistant and accurate.
