Wood is recruiting for a Senior Process Engineer – Water and Wastewater Treatment to join its Oil, Gas and New Energies Canada team. This opportunity is Hybrid based in Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB.

This role is responsible for leading water and wastewater treatment projects, supporting conceptual studies, FEED, and detailed design for clients in oil & gas, energy transition, and petrochemical industries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead process engineering deliverables with minimal guidance
  • Develop process simulations and heat and material balances
  • Conduct process equipment and line sizing and optimize process control strategy
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and interface with clients
  • Review vendor information in detail
  • Complete conceptual studies through detailed engineering
  • Supervise and mentor junior and intermediate process engineers
  • Perform checking of process engineering deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards
  • Conduct regular reporting, scheduling, resource planning
  • Stay updated on technical skills and emerging technologies

Expected:


•    Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution
•    Minimum 10 years of process engineering experience in refining, petrochemicals, or oil & gas industries
•    Expertise in water treatment technologies and water chemistry for industrial wastewater and process water treatment
•    Experience in suspended and dissolved solid removal and disinfection technologies
•    Experience in utilities design
•    Currently registered or eligible for registration with APEGA
•    Proficiency in HYSYS and/or ProMax
•    Familiarity with HTRI, FlareNet, Pipeflow, AFT Fathom, AFT Impulse, and GTPRO software programs
•    Strong written and oral communication skills in English
•    Ability to prioritize workload across multiple projects and coordinate with team members in workshare offices

Desirable:


•    Experience in advanced water treatment technologies such as membrane filtration and bio-treatment
•    Knowledge of regulatory requirements for industrial wastewater treatment
•    Previous client-facing experience in engineering projects
•    Experience with process safety and risk assessments in water treatment applications
