Department   The Technical Department is the center of expertise for Engineering at the Bergen op Zoom site of SABIC. It delivers expert knowledge to all facilities with a focus on the chemical and compounding plants. The organization of the Technical Department consists of multiple subgroups: Process Engineering, Asset Engineering, Process Control, Inspection & Compliance, Process Safety Management, Project Development & Control and Energy & Sustainability. Department The Technical department is responsible for Integrity, Reliability, Improvement and Sustainability of the entire SABIC site in Bergen op Zoom. The Technical department  exists of approx. 45 employees divided over several sub teams.   The Process Engineering team is responsible for Feasibility Studies and Front End Engineering (Conceptual and Basic Engineering) as well as servicing our chemical and compounding operations with short term (troubleshooting) support. TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT The Manufacturing site Geleen encompasses 7 plants: 2 Naphtha crackers (Olefins 3 & Olefins 4), a Logistics unit for Chemicals & Intermediates, a Polypropylene unit (PPF), 2 Polyethylene units (LDPE & HDPE) and a Logistics unit for Polymers. The Naphtha crackers produce amongst others ethylene and propylene which are mainly used as feedstock for the successive poly-olefins plants. Our polyethylene product range includes all of the commodity thermoplastic polymers, linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE), low density polyethylene (LDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE).
