Process Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer
Adecco Direct Placement is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a Senior Process/Manufacturing Engineer Job in Erie, PA at our client, a quality manufacturer of precision machined products. Due to continued growth, our client is adding new positions. The Senior Process/ Manufacturing Engineer will perform all required tasks to develop or coordinate the development of manufacturing processes for selected parts using process development methodology. Since this is in a machining environment, our client requires previous experience with quality machining in an ISO9001/NADCAP facility, and experience with Mills, Lathe’s and/or EDMs, including an understanding of programming, tooling and process development. You will perform project engineering work requiring application of standard and advanced manufacturing and quality techniques, procedures and criteria in developing/improving processes and or manufacturing systems. Our client offers a salary of $62,000 to $70,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package.
Responsibilities for the Senior Process/Manufacturing Engineer Job:
Identify, create and apply manufacturing best practices and standards by means of work instructions, set up and operations of plant manufacturing processes.
Develop corrective actions that may occur internal/external using known corrective action techniques such as 5- why, 8-D and customer driven corrective actions.
Implemented corrective actions and monitor, evaluate, and report their effectiveness.
Develop work travelers, interpret customer print specifications, and identify proper tooling for each program.
Utilize available software programs for quoting purposes.
Utilize software programs to develop and implement CNC programs for production and prototypes.
Assist in quotation process by following quality planning and customer related requirements.
Develop robust manufacturing process for new job opportunities.
Capture and document all data relevant to final process.
Communicate variation in final process from quoted process.
Determine process readiness for production floor.
Interact with Customer base to provide technical customer service.
Know, understand, and follow the Quality Policy and ISO 9002/AS 9100 procedures
Know, understand, and follow the Nadcap procedures
Understand and follow Quality Operating Procedures
Write Process or Engineering Change Notices
Evaluate in-process Process Change Notice as needed
Write and verify Quality Change Notices
A successful candidate can be described as follows:
BS in engineering plus appropriate continuous training.
Eight (8) or more years of experience in a manufacturing engineering position.
Experience in programming CNC Lathe, Mill, and EDMs from prototype- to production quantities.
Experience operating CNC Lathes, Mills, and EDMs machining aerospace grade metals maintaining ±.0005 inch tolerance.
Must be familiar in Solidworks-3-D CAD software.
Proficient in CNC lathe, Mill, and EDM process development.
Multi-axis CNC equipment experience required.
Experience in cutting tool design and fixturing design.
Proficient in reading and understanding part prints including gauge points, section views, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T).
Able to use all forms of inspection equipment (micrometers, gauges, calipers, CMM, etc.)
Authorized to work in the USA.
