Our client is one of the world’s leading integrated refining & energy organisations.  Employing a total staff of 420 the refinery processes 130,000 barrels of oil per day, supplying products to the UK and Northern Europe.

Our client is currently recruiting for a Chemical/Process Engineer, with experience, to work in one of the following areas: Process Engineering Investigations, Study/Project Engineer, Operations Engineer or Operations Planner.

You will be part of a multi disciplined team working with minimal supervision providing technical support to the refinery, working within defined Safety, Environmental, Quality and other Refinery standards to meet production targets and maximise return on investments.

The successful applicants will be responsible for the continual improvement of Refinery Operational Performance through the development of long-term plans, projects, process design and operational techniques. In addition you will also recommend and select catalysts, process chemicals and process additives, whilst conducting and monitoring process unit test runs.

Applicants should be a Chemical Engineering Graduate ideally with at least two years experience or previous 12 month industrial placement work experience as an absolute minimum and be able to demonstrate good interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills. Experience of process systems on a large petroleum/petrochemical or industrial complex would be advantageous as would knowledge of Refinery economics and HAZOP experience. In addition applicants must be IT literate with a working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of packages, especially Excel.

A comprehensive remuneration package is offered for this position which will initially be on a 3 year FTC basis with the potential for a permanent role depending on performance.
