The goal of MPD is to drive sales and savings through platform and process standards. Thisnewly created position will be leading product scale-ups and transfers across Ecolab’s North America Supply Chain and our contract manufacturing network.The MPD Sr. Chemical Process Engineer is also key member of project teams in the Supply Chain, providing significant input into project direction, technical options, strategy, and timing. This position will link our Corporate Supply Chain operations with Manufacturing Plants across North America to successfully transfer new products, deliver technical efficiency improvements, develop robust processes, and increase production capacity to Ecolab’s portfolio of liquid blends. The Engineer may also initiate or contribute to the development of differentiated technology as well as products and processes. What you will Do:Lead product manufacturing transfers (FDA and EPA regulated and non-regulated) between Ecolab plants and/or Contract ManufacturersDevelop and optimize chemical processes for manufacturing Ecolab products; requires partnering with RDE colleagues to improve chemical production processes. Determine most effective arrangement of unit operations for chemical blending operations through literature searches, modelling, and experimentation.Use scientific rigor to design experiments in order to understand relationships/interactions between formulations and processes and their impact on product quality, performance, and stability.Optimize process capability through statistical analysis and makes recommendations for product and process specifications, plant or lab equipment capabilities and procedures.Assisting across regional/global plants to harmonize and ensure best practices are implemented.Maintains a high level of safety awareness for self and others through daily practices, management of change, and incorporation into manufacturing processes. Advocate with RDE to drive Inherent Safety in Design of products and processes.This position supports multiple divisions, including Institutional, F&B, TCD and Healthcare.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or related disciplineExperience with cGMP processes and transfers of products requiring cGMP such as FDA regulated products. Drafting and review process validation protocols. 2+ years combined experience in Supply Chain Manufacturing and/or Process EngineeringAbility to travel up to 40% both domestically and internationallyWorking knowledge in Design of Experiment (DOE) and statistical analysisComfortable working safely with a broad range of chemicals within a laboratory or pilot plant environmentPreferred Qualifications: Proficient in project management and the ability to manage multiple projects and initiativesExceptional problem solving/analytical skills: use of Six Sigma tools and statistical evaluation methodsExperience with batch mixing process, scale-up/scale-down, and product transfersAdvanced PC Skills, including proficiency in building models in Excel, Design Expert, and MinitabA high degree of initiative and self-motivation and can drive projects to completion to obtain resultsExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills coupled with a proven ability to organize, troubleshoot and aid in managing multiple process optimization functions. A strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork, while always working with a sense of urgency.
