Position Title: Organic Chemicals CTE
Position Description/Job Responsibilities
The Organic Chemicals CTE will be responsible for providing process leadership role in KBR's pursuit of new chemicals business as well as in planning and supporting the execution of process engineering work on projects.
Key responsibilities for the CTE will be as follows.
- Set overall process execution strategy for chemicals projects
- Plan or helps in planning the process work and in setting quality assurance requirements
- Assign, in consultation with the department manager and lead process engineer, an experienced process team with appropriate blend of skill levels that best fit the project
- Assist in the use of KBR's technical database as well as process tools to achieve best execution results
- Help develop a project strategy for third party licensor technologies, scope split and integration of licensor design into the project
- Provide technical support as required to KBR's other Operating Centers worldwide covering technology support and execution approach
Another key CTE responsibility will be to support KBR's Business Development team in the pursuit of new business. The CTE will provide input to Sales and Marketing team in technology positioning, prior project and client histories as well as proposal development input to help formulate a win-strategy.
The candidate should have demonstrated a high level of initiative, innovation and have the ability to analyze and provide design solutions and technology improvements. Operations and field troubleshooting experience will also be highly desirable.
This is a process management position with responsibility to support hiring decisions, process staffing and budgets, training and career development within the chemicals team.
Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering and a minimum of twenty (25) years of experience in executing projects covering major chemicals technologies (methanol, alpha olefins, aromatics, aniline, polyethylene, polypropylene, etc.). At least ten of those years must be in a process manager role with a successful history of project execution and client satisfaction. Incumbents at this level will usually hold a certification as a Licensed/Chartered Professional Engineer.
