The Process engineer is responsible for developing and improving efficiency in the areas of production, safety and quality at Henkel's Elgin, IL facility. What we offer Manage scope, design, construction and commissioning of capital projects. Work with cross functional teams including Business, Manufacturing, Technical, Engineering, Logistics, and Accounting on new process reviews, scale up, and commercialization projects related to capital investment at the site. Support management of the site PSM program and effectively apply recognized engineering standards to federal, state and local regulations as needed. Works both independently and with cross functional teams to identify root cause, initiate corrective actions, and manage process and control system improvement projects. Support site audits and reviews and implement corrective actions identified Responsible for leading productivity and quality improvement initiatives for products on site by using various problem solving techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, TPM, etc. Supports manufacturing, maintenance operations and systems with process studies, recommendations, and design. Must be willing and able to work on the production floor and foster strong relationships with hourly work force Contribute to and support all plant Safety, Health, Environmental, Quality and Sustainability initiatives. Able to occasionally work 2nd and 3rd shift as needed, to support site projects.Qualifications Who we are looking for BS Degree Chemical Engineering required. 3+ years of related experience in a process manufacturing environment required. Experience in adhesives/sealants or a chemical manufacturing environment preferred. Lean, Six Sigma or A3 experience preferred. OSHA Process Safety Management experience preferred. Ability to multi task effectively. Strong interpersonal, data analysis, written and oral communication skills. Management or supervision of contractors and/or direct reports.
