The Process Engineer role at Sun Products Corporation, a Henkel Company, is responsible for the design, modification, and upgrade of the process and utility systems which support the manufacturing of laundry and dish care products. This is a fast-paced plant based position. The successful candidate will leverage their previous process engineering / CPG manufacturing experience in the development and execution of a variety of challenging projects
What we offer
Able to learn, understand, and analyze the manufacturing processes at Sun Products.
Performs capacity, equipment sizing, and mass balance calculations.
Develops PFD’s, P&ID’s, and equipment layout drawings.
Participate in the development of highlighted P+ID’s as well as Functional Analysis.
Develops Scope of Work, Project Cost Estimate, and Project Schedule documents.
Develops Equipment / System Specification documents.
Develops RFQ / RFP documents for equipment, installation of equipment, as well as the design and construction of process systems.
Creates and manages standard procurement related duties (PO’s, invoices, etc).
Participates in Design + Risk Reviews, Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) studies, etc.
Links with other Process and Manufacturing Engineers for Design Standardization efforts.
Able to assist with the training of technical / non technical personnel (Maintenance / Operators / Supervisors / etc) in proper operation of new processes and equipment.
Assists with the development, review, and enhancement of SOP’s.
Participates in the testing and validation of new equipment / processes.
Identifies areas for improvement (safety, cost and waste reduction, efficiency. improvement, simplification, etc) which support short / long-term goals of Sun Products.
Enforces Sun Products requirements for Safety and GMP with contractors, vendors, and fellow employees so as to create a safe work environment for all.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Engineering Manager or requested by the Plant Leadership Team.
Who we are looking for
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline
At least 5 years of professional experience in a chemical process engineering role
At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Sound knowledge of engineering theory and design criteria.
Strong written and oral communication skills, organized, self motivated for excellence, has a high standard of performance expectation of self, works effectively in teams.
Ability to work with AutoCAD 2000, MS Office products, calculation software, etc
Ability to travel up to 20%
Able to support projects at other Sun Products/ Henkel Manufacturing locations
