This is an exciting new opportunity for a highly motivated individual to work within the Core-science, physical science modelling group based at Sonning Common as a Materials or Chemical Engineering Researcher.
- To conduct world class industrial research in the area of materials or chemical engineering
To apply complex physical understanding to systems of importance for JM and develop an independent collaborative portfolio of projects within JMTC and across business units
Keep abreast of developments within field of speciality and actively participate in advancing knowledge
Use acquired expertise to enhance the field of specialism within JMTC and the broader JM community
Where appropriate develop external relationships (industry and academia) with a view to creating technical and scientific collaboration, this could also include supporting student projects
Maintain and propagate the highest EHS standards in accordance with JM requirements.
Are you the ideal candidate?
You will have:
A PhD or significant relevant experience in the modelling of materials and/or chemical engineering
Experience in one or more of thermodynamic modelling, statistical modelling, process modelling, reaction engineering modelling, linking multiscale process together
The ability to use your expertise to enhance underpinning research and knowledge within the organisation
An appreciation of the chemical viewpoint and how to combine the underlying physics and chemistry to the engineering modelling applications
Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other scientists both inside and outside of JM.
