Job Description:BAE Systems, one of the world's largest defense contractors and a Fortune 500 Company, is hiring a Process Engineer / Chemical Engineer to help us produce energetic materials for our government and commercial customers. Primary responsibilities include: o Provide process engineering support to the Explosives Manufacturing Department o Develop new and redline existing Piping & Instrumentation Diagramso Develop new and redline existing Interlock Narrativeso Ensure required production schedules are met in accordance with quality standards, safety requirements, regulatory standards o Facilitate and/or support improvement projects, maintenance projects and aid in process troubleshooting o Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting within Process Control Systems o Provide on call Technical support o Author, maintain and update necessary Procedures & assist with training when applicable o Develop cost estimates for new and existing products o Collaborate and function in a team based environment o Provide field support for I/O and interlock checkout Troubleshoot Process, Instrumentation, and equipment problems o Develop Process Flow Diagrams and Heat & Material Balances o Interact with Customers and Suppliers o Lead/support Process Hazard Analysis for new and existing processes o Interact with R&D to scale-up and/or develop new processes o Develop and implement quality, safety, and process improvements Minimum Education and Experience:Bachelor's Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experienceRequired Skills and Education:o Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Controls, or similar discipline with minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing process engineering or troubleshooting.o Must be 21 years of agePreferred Skills and Education:o Previous Experience with Control Systems o Previous Experience in Production Operations o Previous Experience in process start-upo Hazard Analysis - HAZOP, PHA, FMEA, etco Cooperative Education experienceAbout BAE Systems Platforms & Services Posting:BAE Systems is a premier global defense and security company with approximately 90,000 employees delivering a full range of products and services for air, land and naval forces, as well as advanced electronics, security, information technology solutions and customer support and services.
