What you need to know about the role

We’re looking for a Process Safety Specialist on a 12 month contract. You will be responsible for developing people and systems to ensure we meet the highest internal and external process safety standards.

 

You will be monitoring and investigating where necessary process safety performance and the facilitation of the delivery of process safety improvement plans within the manufacturing units.

 

Providing advice on Process Safety standards and systems, as well as coaching and supporting manufacturing teams in risk analysis techniques, whilst effectively influencing all levels of Management to achieve your process safety objectives. A key part of the role will be the maintenance and updates of the installation COMAH safety reports.

 

As part of the role you will also deliver training modules associated with Process Safety and COMAH, as well as leading or participating in incident investigations, facilitating Process Safety Meetings and taking ownership and management of Process Safety documents and databases.

What we need to know about you

You will need to have a degree or equivalent level qualification in chemical or process engineering, and a process engineering background with substantial experience of applying risk assessment tools and techniques and an extensive understanding of Process Safety Management.

 

Ideally you will have Process Safety Hazard Study Leadership experience in a wide range of study types including PHR, LOPA, HFCTA, and OBRA etc. You will also need to have experience and be confident when meeting with the Competent Authorities.
