Prysmian are working exclusively with Hays to appoint an analytical and driven Process Engineer for their site in Eastleigh in Hampshire.
Your new role
As our Process Engineer you will work within a small close-knit Process Engineering team taking responsibility for supporting and improving a range of manufacturing processes across the plant. Your proactive approach based on a Continuous Improvement philosophy will mean a reduction in waste through ensuring optimum quality and product efficiency are achieved. You will take on additional responsibility for reviewing Engineering data, coordinating projects within strict deadlines which will have a direct impact on improved product quality and productivity across the plant. This is a varied role with a wide scope however you will benefit from fantastic day to day training and guidance from the longstanding senior engineering team.
What you'll need to succeed
We are seeking a professional who is educated to degree level within an Engineering discipline, from Mechanical through to Industrial Engineering who is able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Problem Solving/ Continuous improvement techniques and methodology. You will have proven experience within a Manufacturing setting where you have utilised your analytical and problem solving skills in order to achieve improvements and cost savings. Cable Manufacturing experience would be highly advantageous however is not essential for this role. Previous experience working with Lean or Six Sigma techniques as well as experience of VB programming would also be extremely advantageous but not essential. You will have fantastic inter-personal skills meaning you are able to communicate effectively across a number of teams, from Production and Maintenance teams through to Quality.

More specifically, during these last 2 weeks at our global facility, you will get a deep dive into the main topics of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Continuous improvement, Processes & Machinery, which will get you automatically involved into our Prysmian Group Academy.
You will have the opportunity to strengthen your skills and build a strong Manufacturing Community, meeting technical experts, combining classroom theory with practical, hands-on experience in our module based program.
But the three-week Induction will be only the beginning of a great journey into exciting portfolio of skills training. Upon reaching specific performance goals, you can have the chance to attend more advanced technical training, spreading from our Advanced Manufacturing training and our Excellence in Manufacturing session.
