Refinery/Petrochemical Insurance Risk Engineer

UAE Dirhams K35 to K50 per month, tax free (including accommodation payments).

UAE Oil, Refining and Chemicals Insurance

Our client is a major player in the global insurance sector involved in the provision of cover to large scale refinery, petrochemical and gas facilities worldwide. The company operates out of 50 countries addressing high hazard sectors including oil and gas, power, chemicals, marine, mass transport and so on. This is a challenging and exciting role for a significantly experienced chemical engineer with extensive exposure to and understanding of refinery and/or petrochemical operations, ideally acquired within a major energy/chemicals production company. Our client is specifically looking for a chemical engineer with substantial exposure to the technical support of major downstream COMAH plant operations and the management and mitigation of operational loss supplemented, ideally, by an understanding of refinery economics, business interruption and consequential loss. Insight into the consequential production/business implications of unit downtime and interdependency would be especially welcome. Our client is not looking for dedicated safety or process design engineers at this time. Supporting clients throughout the Middle East, the appointee will undertake site inspections and condition surveys, review operating procedures, evaluate unit interdependency and integrity, undertake desktop risk assessments and produce clear, high quality reports for underwriters, clients and brokers. Foreign language skills would be welcome. Significant travel within the EMEA region can be expected. The contract will be offered on local terms that include healthcare and travel. The remuneration range above  an allowance for accommodation.

Interested and suitably qualified candidates should forward a Word version of their CV and a brief covering letter.
