Our client is part of a globally renowned manufacturing group and operates from a complex manufacturing plant in the North Wales area. In order to ensure that they are able to deliver on their commitments to their blue-chip customers they now seek to recruit an Operations Manager to lead operations within one specific area of the plant and also to take the responsibility as Deputy Plant Manager for the whole manufacturing plant.

Your responsibility will include all aspects of operations, including HSE, in achieving plant metrics, quality, cost control, people engagement and development, and continuous improvement initiatives across a mixture of continuous and batch process plant.

Reporting to (and deputising for) the Plant Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that all operations are conducted safely, meeting all current Health and Safety and environmental standards. You will lead continuous improvement and CIP efforts in order to reduce costs and increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the site operations.

Educated to degree level in an Operations / Manufacturing or Technical discipline you will be able to demonstrate operational management within a chemical manufacturing environment. You will have strong leadership skills in managing change as well as the ability to analyse and improve business processes. 

You will have a sound working knowledge of plant engineering, quality assurance practices, safety and environmental management as well as knowledge in international safety regulations, familiar with process safety management systems, including MOC system, technical aspects of process safety, risk assessments.

It is essential that you have the ability to demonstrate commitment to the stringent HSE standards, regulations and legislations as experience with the chemical industry.

You will have proven leadership ability, as well as the necessary commercial acumen, strategic vision and planning capability to add value through improving business efficiency. You will also have excellent relationship building skills and a successful track record in driving business growth, backed by the ability to engage, inspire and influence on an internal and external basis
