YOUR NEW COMPANY:
The company is a Global Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation that provides exceptional service, and a world-class experience, by delivering on its commitments. 
The Site is based near Bristol. 
My client is s currently responsible for manufacturing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient for two major supply chains but is now looking to expand both its product base and customer base. 

To support the anticipated growth, the Technical Improvement Group is looking to recruit in to entry role a full-time Process Engineer to supplement the existing Process Engineering Group. 

The role holder will report directly to the site Process Engineering Team Manager. 
This is an entry level role so graduates or recent graduates are welcome to apply. 

Full training will be given but the successful candidate will need to have Masters in Chemical engineering and ideally some industry experience. 

Ideally we are looking to start in April/ May, but start dates will be flexible depending on successful candidate availability 

Offered salary range £30k -£33k depending on experience. 

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education & Experience 
Process Engineers are core to many aspects of the site’s operations. 
They will take a lead role in the design and optimisation of processes and equipment. 
The company has a proud record of supply robustness and process engineers play a leading role in supporting the site to continually improve its operations, ensuring licence to operate is maintained and processing is efficient and effective. 
The successful applicant will apply practical, experimental and theoretical chemical engineering skills and knowledge to identify optimum mechanisms and technologies for delivering outcomes. 
The suceslfull applicant will benefit from ongoing Professional Development in an environment of Pharmaceutical manufacturing excellence. 

The applicant will have the following as a minimum; 

A degree level education in Chemical Engineering. 
A sound understanding of the theory and practice of process engineering techniques appropriate to process development, design & operation. 
A sound understanding of the design of processes and chemical plant, and associated hazards and SHE constraints. 
An awareness of the principles and application of cGMP. 

Role & Responsibilities 
The role holder will be required to take a pro-active role in some, or all, of the following key work areas; Development of processes for new and established compounds to optimise resources, maximise plant utilisation, improve operability and further develop process understanding. 
This may include an element of laboratory work. 
Accommodation of new & established compounds into manufacturing plant, which may involve scale-up from laboratory process development. 
Design, commissioning and evaluation of plants, processes and new technologies in conjunction with major capital projects to meet the business manufacturing needs. 
Provision of technical knowledge and expertise to personnel to aid technical developments within the Company. Development of existing processes, and design of new or modified plant such that the API development demands are met in the most effective manner. 
Provision of production support to the manufacturing team, including troubleshooting & optimisation of processes and resources, improving working practices and progressing process or plant improvements. 
The role holder may act as process engineer and/or project/commissioning manager for improvement projects. Identification of future plant and technology requirements for both development and established compounds, and development of specialist equipment to secure long-term product manufacture. 

In all the above activities, the role holder will ensure that their own work is carried out in accordance with local SHE and cGMP requirements. 

Skills & Capabilities 
Problem Solving: 
The role will involve an extensive element of problem solving, and the role holder will be required to be flexible and adaptable in their approach to work.
It will require analytical thinking skills and experience in order to make decisions, and develop solutions or more complicated judgements within general operating guidelines. 
The role holder will need to demonstrate conceptual thinking skills to enable proactive involvement with potential problem identification and the provision of solutions. 
The role holder will be expected to provide critical advice and assessment of available engineering options and techniques to devise, develop and optimise API processes where the consequence of failure could lead to interruption to commercial supply. 

Communication: The role holder will require good communication and interpersonal skills, and will be expected to establish and maintain essential relationships with personnel in several interacting functions and departments. 

The role holder will liaise with and direct others through developed communication and influencing skills, and will present information for discussion at higher levels within the business. 

Their communication skills will influence the technical direction of the project team. 

The role offers £30k -£33k salary and excellent benefits to be discussed at the interview stage.
