Our client is a global chemicals manufacturer going through an extended period of growth.

Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties at all times in compliance with business conduct policies, guidelines and local site rules
  • Contribute to the development and application of the site's Process Safety culture, working to deliver solutions and improvement to corporate standards
  • Develop and maintain documentation for existing and new SIS functions consistent to corporate safety I&C standards and the site's Management and Quality Program
  • Ensure that guidelines related to Instrumented Protective Systems are developed by the Process Safety team and correctly implemented within on site Plant Systems
  • Lead and contribute to activities that involve maintenance, improvement or redesign of the site safety Instrumentation & Control (I&C) functions
  • Develop and lead improvement of the Alarm Management Systems, DCS and Hardware safety trip systems and their integration into existing
  • Develop robust management control of trip inhibition systems

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in Electrical or Instrument and Control Engineering (or relevant Safety Engineering) discipline
  • Previous experience in a Process Safety Engineering capacity
  • Working knowledge of relevant I/E European and British Standards
  • Operational experience in safety PLCs, DCS, DeltaV control systems, hardwired trip systems
  • Good level of project management and communication skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships with multi-disciplined teams and 3rd party contractors
