A Process Engineer is required to join an innovative state of the art Aerospace Company on a Permanent basis that specialises in products primarily for the Aerospace and Precision engineering industry. The Process Engineer will preferably have technical expertise and experience in an aerospace or composite build manufacturing environment. 

The Process Engineer will report to the Lead Process Engineer and the duties will include taking responsibility for the process within a designated area or areas in order to achieve product volumes, yields and quality targets. 

Duties of the Process Engineer

  • Develop and implement equipment, procedure and process changes
  • Design and implementation of improvement projects 
  • Identify process performance improvements to achieve product quality standards 
  • Minimise operating costs and maximise unit safety and reliability 
  • Use methodical approaches such as 4D / 8D problem solving tools 
  • Use Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA) to improve process capability 
  • Identify root causes of problems, and implement improvement opportunities 
  • Write and maintain Process Control Plans 
  • Gather and evaluate appropriate data to improve process capability 
  • Provide corrective actions and preventative action for faults found on product 
  • Ensure the plant is audit ready at all times and consistent to best practice 
  • Monitor and present weekly right first time statistics 
  • Compile and deliver process documentation for best practice and training

Requirements and Experience Process Engineer

  • HNC/D in relevant field or Degree level qualification in a relevant field desirable
  • Knowledge of methods and processes such as: Tooling, 8D, Problem solving, Tolerances 
  • Lean methodologies and Design for manufacture (DFM) 
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing process controls 
  • Experience of fault finding and resolving issues to optimise processes 
  • Proven ability to train and coach colleagues with a passion for improvements and results 
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel within UK and oversees at short notice if required 
  • Competent user of MS Office packages essential 
  • UK Driving licence holder essential and Project Management skills desirable 
  • Knowledge aircraft certification requirements including AS9100 desirable 
  • Knowledge of methods and processes such as Composite materials PPAP, APQP desirable 
  • CAD - CATIA V5 knowledge is desirable
