Our client is a successful and highly prestigious shipping consultancy offering a wide range of services including vessel and asset valuations, due diligence and demand, supply and price forecasting to banks, investors, government, statutory and verification agencies, ship owners and brokers, etc.

Their immediate focus is on recruiting a junior but experienced oil, gas and refined products analyst who’s commercial insight and understanding of the hydrocarbons market value chain, will help inform and improve the businesses broader shipping advisory offering.

The post holder will help maintain, develop and interpret the company’s proprietary energy shipping market models, contribute to written reports and provide analytical support on consultancy projects. The critical requirement is an understanding of the global and local commercial variables that inform the development of reliable demand, supply and pricing forecasts for oil, gas and other refined commodity hydrocarbon products such as gasoline, diesel, naphtha, condensates/distillates etc., These are the  principal cargos for our client’s clients and a major driver therefore of shipping economics and pricing.

The job holder is likely to be a chemical engineer, chemist or economist with an excellent first degree (or equivalent),  from a leading university with competencies and skills acquired within hydrocarbons consulting, commerce or manufacturing over a 2 to 5 year period.  Whilst knowledge of the shipping industry, is an advantage, it is not essential.
